Find the structure, not the footage
The Meta Ad Library lets anyone browse ads that are running across Meta’s apps. It is a good place to study hooks, offers and formats in your category. Use what you learn as inspiration for your own structure, and use only your own or licensed footage in the ad itself. Our guide on how to find winning ads covers the research step in detail.
Two versions: Feed 4:5 and Reels 9:16
Plan a 4:5 version for Feed placements and a 9:16 version for Reels and Stories. Keep the same hook and pacing in both, and recompose captions so they sit clear of interface elements in each placement. Check Meta’s current placement guidance before you export.
How it works
- Upload the ad you own or have licensed, plus product images, your logo and copy.
- Write a brief that names the format you need and what to keep or change.
- Review the plan and quote, confirm, and check the result in your Library.
- Repeat with the other aspect ratio if you need both placements.
Keep vs change
| Keep unchanged | Change |
|---|---|
| People on screen | Product, packaging and close-ups |
| Hook, pacing and shot order | Captions, offer card and call to action |
| Framing of each shot | Logo, background and end card |
Meta advertising standards
Every ad has to follow Meta’s Advertising Standards, including the rules on copyright and trademarks. Following those principles is your responsibility, and no tool can promise an ad will be approved. Make only claims you can prove, disclose AI-generated content where the platform or law requires it, and never publish fake testimonials or endorsements.
Frequently asked questions
Can Clone Cut pull ads from the Meta Ad Library?
No. Use the Meta Ad Library for research only. To create a video, upload a reference you own or have permission to use.
Should I make Feed and Reels versions?
Usually yes, if you plan to run both placements. Keep the structure the same and adjust the framing and caption positions for each aspect ratio.
Will my ad pass Meta review?
No tool can promise that. Follow Meta’s Advertising Standards, use licensed media and keep every claim provable.
